How To Gain Instant Business Credibility
Business credibility is vital to success. It is a key building block to for trust and we all know that people only buy from people they trust “know like AND trust”.
If you lack credibility you’re unlikely to make sale, it’s as simple as that. You may struggle to get repeat business and it’s possible that you will also miss out on potential referrals, partnerships and other opportunities. In this article I wanted to share with you some tips that can help you boost your credibility and this will help you close more deals and get more clients.
The first tip that I can give you to boost your credibility may seem counter intuitive but it’s your best opportunity to build your credibility. You need to ask more questions. If you’re asking questions to seek clarity from your prospect, if you spend a little extra time at making sure you actually understand their needs this shows that you care instead of just trying to sell them a solution that may not actually suit the problems they face or solve their needs
Next thing you need to do is create plenty of educational content for your Clients and Prospects. Combined these materials become your credibility kit or catalogue. Your kit can contain “How to Guides”, case studies, workbooks, resource lists – and less not forget a professionally published book, the opportunities and options go on and on. It depends on your industry as to which types of content would best suit your needs to help you grow your credibility.
If you are presenting a proposal to someone it’s important that all your presentation focuses directly on the benefits that your customers are going to receive, not on the features of your product or service. A prospect doesn’t care about features, they only care about how your product or service is going to save them time or make them money. If you consistently emphasise the benefits of your product or service and these benefits match the problems that a prospect might have – those that you’ve identified by asking the questions, as mentioned in the tactic floated earlier, you instantly lift your credibility because it shows that you care about the problems they are facing
Authenticity is important. People can see through fake. People want to deal with genuine people. They need to make sure that you are authentic. Don’t pretend to be someone that you are not.
Finally, I can’t emphasise enough the importance of getting testimonials from your happy clients. if someone has been happy with your service provided to them, if your product has changed the way their business runs then you should ask them for a written testimonial. A written testimonial can go a long way to boosting your credibility and helping you make a sale to a new prospect. The key is to ask, you’ll be presently surprised how quickly you will grow you testimonial bank.
Credibility does take the time to build but the tips I have mentioned above go a long way to quickly boosting your credibility. You should try to implement each of these steps starting today and measure how your efforts go. You can track how your credibility is boosted with certain prospects that may not have felt so positive towards you in the past.
